Bentsen Palm Development, the City of Mission, the North American Butterfly Association, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife have joined together to preserve and protect a large area of pristine habitat along the Rio Grande.
This protected area of over 3,000 acres is available for bird, butterfly and nature enthusiasts and includes Bentsen Rio Grande State Park, a necessary stop for birders since the 1940’s. The NABA Butterfly Park will be the world’s largest outdoor butterfly park and will host more butterfly species than any other location in the U.S.
